High school students and their families are invited to learn about academic programs, career paths, financial aid, and more at Joliet Junior College’s open house, Discover JJC, on Saturday Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

• Tour JJC’s Main Campus
• Learn about more than 100 academic programs
• Meet with JJC faculty and staff
• Apply for admissions
• Find out about JJC’s dual-credit process
• Learn about financial aid, scholarships, and study-abroad opportunities

Students will also have the chance to attend two informational sessions. “Getting Started at JJC,” which will be held at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. in room A-1061, will discuss admission requirements, ACT Compass placement testing and transfer information. “Paying for College” will be held in A-1002 at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 a.m., and will cover financial aid for college.

In addition, there will be refreshments and students will have the opportunity to enter a raffle and win an iPod, a $50 Bookstore gift certificate or a certificate to see a Planetarium show at JJC with 50 friends.

In conjunction with Discover JJC, the automotive program will hold free car check-ups the same day.
