Get Your Garden Ready for Spring: March 7 Event Open to Will County Residents
A University of Illinois Extension master gardener will help participants learn to jump-start their gardens for spring.

Direct sow Mexican sunflower (Tithonia) seeds right into your garden after danger of frost. Plants grow quickly and attract butterflies.

University of Illinois Master Gardener Nancy Kuhajda will host "Seed Basics" from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in the Inwood Athletic Club board room, 3000 W. Jefferson St., Joliet.

Participants will learn all about seed starting to help them get their gardens ready for spring.
