Library Encourages Kids to Play with Their Food

The Food Art event is part of the Joliet Public Library's summer reading program.

On Tuesday afternoon, kids went to the downtown branch of the Joliet Public Library to paint.

What went on their brushes, though, was not traditional paint, but rather chocolate syrup, mustard and ketchup. The event, called Food Art, is one of the programs the library has created to go along with its summer reading program.

The program this year is titled, "Reading is delicious."

Did you miss the program on Tuesday? Don't worry, the Black Road branch of the library will host a Food Art event from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., June 14. Registration and information about the summer reading programs for children and adults is available on the library Web site.
