Joliet Man Arrested for Shooting Gun at a Couple

Darrius Williamson was charged with attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon; no one was injured.

 

A Joliet man who's accused of firing a gun at a couple outside a Joliet Township bar has been arrested by the Will County Sheriff's Office and charged with attempted murder.

The incident took place shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday near Jerry's Place, 1827 E. Washington St., according to a story in the Joliet Herald News.

Alleged shooter Darrius L. Williamson, 32, of 116 Davison St., fled the scene but officers were able to track him down to a back yard on Anderson Avenue, the story said. He was also was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.

No one was injured, but a bullet did go through the windshield of the SUV the couple was driving, the story said.
