One Person Airlifted in Second Interstate 80 Crash

The crash at 12:59 a.m. Friday was one mile away from a fatal crash on Thursday afternoon.

 

Two people were injured and taken to the hospital, one by helicopter, following a crash on Interstate 80 westbound just before 1 a.m., Friday.

The crash took place at mile marker 113. The fatal crash on Thursday was on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 112.

"It was only a mile away," Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Martez Malone said.

One patient was taken to Morris Hospital and the airlifted patient was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

No information about the injured individuals was available and Illinois State Police are investigating the accident.
