Railroad Construction on McClintock Road Behind Schedule

Despite starting early, the railroad crossing remains closed Wednesday, with delays due to weather.

Residents in Leland Hills, McKinley Woods and Park Place subdivisions in Channahon will have to wait a little longer for the railroad crossing on McClintock Road to be completed.

"It was originally expected to be open Oct. 19," Channahon Public Works Superintendent Ed Dolezal said. "They've had weather delays."

Patch first reported about the project on Oct. 15. The project began Oct. 12, instead of the expected Oct. 15.

Dolezal said BNSF reported the new completion date for the project is Thursday.

"I do see there are some thunderstorms tomorrow," Dolezal said. "We're kind of at the mercy of the railroad and the weather."
