Shorewood Drug Bust
The cops caught two men with pills speeding through town, police said.
A pilled-up Minooka man speeding through Shorewood was caught with someone else's prescription drugs, police said.
The man, 20-year-old Michael Williams of 2581 Canal Road N., was pulled over just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Bailey Drive and Black Road. He was allegedly speeding and driving out of his lane.
A Shorewood police officer determined Williams was under the influence of drugs and arrested him.
After Williams was taken into custody, an officer found prescription drugs in the vehicle and on the persons of both Williams and his passenger, 19-year-old Austin Abel of 1120 Barber Lane in Joliet, police said.
Williams, who according to jail records works as a car porter, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of intoxicating compounds, speeding and improper lane usage.
Abel, whose occupation was listed as "student" in jail records, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of cannabis.
Both men were taken to the Will County jail in Joliet.
