When Does Daylight Saving Time 2013 Start?

Find out when Daylight Saving Time 2013 will start in March 2013.

Daylight Saving Time 2013 will start March 10, 2013.

Set your clocks ahead at 2 a.m. March 10, and get ready for some extra daylight.

Daylight Saving Time Fun Facts: Arizona, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and American Samoa do not recognize Daylight Saving Time.

According to the The National Institute of Standards and Technology

Daylight Saving Time, or DST, is the period of the year when clocks are moved one hour ahead. In the United States, this has the effect of creating more sunlit hours in the evening during months when the weather is the warmest. We advance our clocks ahead one hour at the beginning of DST, and move them back one hour ("spring forward, fall back") when we return to Standard Time (ST). The transition from ST to DST has the effect of moving one hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. The transition from DST to ST effectively moves one hour of daylight from the evening to the morning.

How do we get "extra" daylight? Did The Chosen One O command the sun to put forth more daylight in a 24 hour day? Fun fact check-hoosiers don't recognize DST either-but that has more to do with not knowing how to operate a clock.

You had to drag Obama into this? Another fun fact...it is illegal (state law) to take a bath in Indiana between the months of October and March. So they can't operate a clock and smell bad too.

Every state has its stupid laws. In fact, I believe that up until the 60s, it was illegal to speak English in Illinois. You must speak American. Somewhere in California (I believe), its illegal for children to jump over puddles. I can't remember the reasoning why Indiana had that old law about taking a bath. I remember hearing about it while attending college there. However, Indiana DOES recognize DST now. Ever since 2006.
