Pizza! Pizza! Pizza Galore!

Do you like pizza? If so, are you sick of it?

I ask this because there are more than 10 pizza places in Channahon and Minooka. Too many!

Listen to learn more.

I vote for Maurella's in Minooka with a side of their delicious calamari! I don't know...can there ever be too much pizza? I would love to see a fresher restaurant though too!

I totally agree with you, Abby. Too many pizza places. I love pizza. My favorite is Giordano's stuffed cheese. Their sauce is so good. But I wish there was more of a variety of restaurants. You know why there isn't? Because that's what people want. It's kind of like natural selection. Survival of the fittest. People buy a lot of pizzas, so more pizza places come to town. I hope some different type restaurants come to the area and that people eat there and support them. What would you like to see come to Channahon and Minooka?

another good steak restaurant or just another restaurant would be lone star steak house! The one that is closest is in joliet i think. The weber grill is waaaaaay to far to go to somewhat often. it is kinda expensive, though. still delish!

I am all about the Rosati's double dough pizza. Yes there are too many though. I would bet with the addition of Pizza Hut one or two of the smaller ones will fade away.

I heard at one point before the housing market collapsed that Portillos was considering a spot by the Jewel at Ridge and Rt 6. Don't know how far along or true that was. I would love to see a Chipotle or Five Guys, but those franchises will only go near major shipping areas. I heard Five Guys was looking at a possible location in Joliet near the mall. We need the village to bring us real retail options and not strip malls that are destined to fail, and that will attract more options for places to eat. Unfortunately that has been an issue for a while now.

I love pizza; but I, too, would like to see some other options. Hopefully Pizza Hut does not force locally-owned spots out of business, and hopefully the "other options" do not end up being just a bunch of chain restaurants. This is still a small community with character and identity - bringing in big-name eateries might dilute that feel and glaze the region over with the boring, cookie-cutter, sterility of suburbia. Portillos does sound good, though...doesn't it? :)
