Bite Me, Channahon-Minooka: 3 Local Eateries That Hit the Spot

In the mood to eat out? Why not make a day of it?

1. BREAKFAST: Grandma’s Pancake House, 609 W. Mondamin St., Minooka. Eight reviews and three stars on Yelp. Said Johnny T. of Minooka: “Turned out that it was the tastiest country fried steak I've had, the breading was delicate as it came right off the steak when I cut it and it and each bite just melt in my mouth. The hashbrowns, eggs, and gravy were really good as well.”

2. LUNCH: Lallo’s Mexican Bar & Grill, 25365 S. Fryer St., Channahon. Eleven reviews and four stars on Yelp. Said Tony S. of Minooka: “Discovered Lallo's in January and have been visiting regularly since. They offer awesome lunch specials for under $7, drafts for $1.25 and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.  Neighborhood restaurants like Lallo's are few and far between today.”

3. DINNER: The Shrimp Barn, 125 W. Mondamin St., Minooka. Twelve reviews and three stars on Yelp. Said Cara M. of Minooka: “My boyfriend and went here tonight and it was wonderful. We really enjoyed ourselves. I got a salad with salmon, half a bottle of wine. It was great. My boyfriend got alligator and perch. He lovedddd the gator. We also received complimentary pineapple fritters which were awesome and some bread with garlic oil.”
