Past Due on Utility Bills? Channahon Will Terminate Service after One Notice, Not Two

This change begins in January 2014 and takes away the second notice, a door hanger.

The following is a Village of Channahon news release:

In the past, the Village of Channahon has mailed red PAST DUE notices for non-payment of utility bills. Door hangers would follow the notice as a last means of communication to the customer that service would be terminated. Per Village Ordinance, beginning January 2014, a red PRE-TERMINATION notice will be sent via U.S. mail.

NO ADDITIONAL NOTICE OF TERMINATION INCLUDING DOOR HANGERS WILL BE GIVEN.
