Frosty 5 Mile Promises to Live up to its Name

The first run of the season in Channahon will see highs in the 40s, but freezing rain is possible.

Runners always have to have an eye out for the weather. They have to plan to dress for the weather and to know that when the seasons change, the way, time and perhaps even place they run will differ. But weather is not always a deterent for runners. In fact, the Channahon Park District Frosty 5 Mile in Channahon is often the kick off for the running season and is always well attended. In 2012, runners saw abot the same tempuratures of around 37 degrees, but last year was sunny. The forecast for Sunday is 46 degrees, but there is a 100 percent chance of rain.
