Give Blood and Go Bowling: Get Out

There is so much to do this weekend.

We've had glimpses of Spring, but just when we think we can hang up the down jacket, the snow starts falling again. There is only one cure for this time of year. Get out and have fun.

1. Play with play-doh

When: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., Thursday

Why:
If you have small kids, they are going stir-crazy. And, while this is event is great for the kids, the bigger reason to go is to keep your sanity. Have you ever tried to get Play-doh out of the carpet?
Cost:
Free

When: beginning at 6 p.m. Friday
Where: Joliet Junior College Renaissance Center, 214 N. Ottawa St., Joliet
Why:
This Friday, each course of the gourmet meal at the Renaissance Center is paired with wine.
Cost:
$69.45 (includes tax and gratuity)

3. Buy Unique gifts

When: beginning at 8 a.m., Thursday
Where: Joliet Junior College, Main Campus, D through F concourse
Why:
African apparel, jewelry and more will be for sale. 
Cost: Free to attend

4. Give Blood

When: 7:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday
Where: Minooka Junior High School
Why:
Blood banks are in great need of blood this time of year. Give if you can.
Cost:
Free

5. go Bowling

When: 2:45 p.m.-5 p.m., Sunday (must register by Feb. 25, 815-467-2151)
Where: Channahon Lanes
Why:
Bowl during Community-Wide Wacky Bowling
Cost:
$10 per person includes two games of bowling & shoe rental, plus one beverage ticket.
