Halloween Ball and Pumpkin Decorating Set for Minooka

Three Rivers Arts Council to host its first dance, aimed at teens.

Three Rivers Arts Council is hosting two events this week aimed at families, pre-teens and teens. It begins with a movie and pumpkins event at 6 p.m. Oct. 26. Families are invited to come to the TRAC Art House and paint a pumpkin then stay for an 8 p.m. screening of Nosferatu. The event is $2 for individuals and $5 for families of three or more.

Then, on Oct. 27, the venue plays host to a Halloween Costume Ball, which is aimed at the youth in the community.

"Halloween is such a great opportunity for the Three Rivers Arts Council to have everyone get creative with costumes and come out and have a great time at our building, so what better then a costume dance," Jacki Carugati McHale, who is helping to organize the event, said. "Between haunted houses in the area, we thought this would be a great place to come, dance, and show of costumes."

The event begins at 7 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. There is a $3 donation to get in the door and concessions will be available for an additional charge.

DJ Will Thomas will be providing the music and the costume contest winner will be chosen by the crowd.
