Equestrian enjoyment for the entire family at Ellis House

You don’t have to be an ardent equestrian to enjoy the humble majesty of horses.

Since the dawn of time horses have played a significant role in civilization including working, transportation, racing and riding for sport or sheer enjoyment.  Horses can teach us many things.

The center is located in the Bakers Woods Forest Preserve in Minooka and hosts these encounters on the first Friday of every month. The evening includes a family friendly movie, tractor rides, bonfire, children's straw play pen, crafts refreshments and pony rides.

If you can’t make the first Friday event, Ellis House also offers one hour tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment as well as a variety of programs for the community; from riding lessons and to 5K race events and volunteers opportunities.
