Areas of Channahon and Minooka Covered in Fog

National Weather Service forecasts areas of dense fog Monday night into Tuesday.

The National Weather Service did not forecast any severe weather Monday night, but it did predict fog

"A few locations will see their visibilities drop to less than one quarter of a mile at times," The forecast stated

Residents in Channahon, Minooka and areas further west into Morris and south into Coal City were reporting not only dense fog, but also pouring rain.

The NWS said there would be the possibility of severe weather Tuesday into Tuesday night.

"Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday into Tuesday evening as a strong cold front approaches," NWS forecast states. "The storms Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening have the potential to be strong...with gusty winds the primary threat."

The forecast goes on to estimate rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, which could cause swelling rivers, creeks and streams.
