Grab and Go Kids Planner: Registration is Key

In a light weekend for offerings, Patch reminds you not to miss these upcoming events.

Register for Spring Break Trip

Why go: The trip is not until March 25, but the deadline to register is Thursday. The trip will take kids ages kindergarten through sixth grade to Schaumburg Park District’s The Water Works Indoor Water Park.

Kids will enjoy three water slides, rapid water channel, water playground and diving pool. Fee includes transportation and admission into the water park, but kids must bring their own lunch. The trip will leave from Skateland promptly at 10:00am and should arrive back by 4 p.m.

Why go: We know the thought of getting out in a swimsuit still makes you shiver, but the time is quickly approaching. Rates increase after April 16, so get into the center before then for the best rates. Channahon Park District residents can get an individual, early bird season pass for only $55. Soak in the sun as much as you like.

Pricing: Varies from $40 to $190 depending on number of members and residency status

Buy a Splash Station Waterpark Season Pass

Where/When: Joliet Park District, 3000 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, operating hours.

Why go: We're suggesting this because some of you are residents of the Joliet Park District. The season passes for Splash Station Waterpark are on sale.

Play Doh or shrinky Dinky Do

Where/When: , March 24 and March 25

Why go:  There are events this coming weekend at the library, but those programs are full. As is the case across the board this week, you have to register in advance to be sure not to miss your favorite activities. Play Doh is at the Channahon Branch and Shrinky Dinky Do is at the Minooka Branch

Pricing: Both are free


Where/When: Pilcher Park Nature Center, 2501 Highland Park Dr., Joliet/ 8 a.m. to noon, March 26 and March 27

Why go: The Pioneer Festival and pancake breakfast sells out every year.
