Great Escape: Local Boutique Can be an Escape

Heavenly Sinful, which used to be in Shorewood, is a great place to go and relax.

Earlier this week while I was trying to kill 15 minutes in Twin Oaks Plaza, I came across this enchanting little boutique nestled in the midst of a dive bar and a bible store; Heavenly Sinful. I saw the irony. In any event, 15 minutes turned into a couple of hours. And, that turned into this week’s serendipitous escape.

The boutique features a nice selection of apparel from contemporary items to those on the more edgy side of the trend spectrum; from designers like Affliction, Ed Hardy and Prison City Chopper. They even carry their own custom line of “Heavenly Sinful” apparel by local designer David Bradley.

In addition to clothing, Heavenly Sinful has a full array of jewelry, handbags and other accessories as well as aromatherapy items, metaphysical products and spiritual jewelry.

The boutique is the perfect afternoon getaway; whether you are looking for a gift, doing some window shopping after lunch, or rewarding yourself to a well-deserved treat after a hectic work week.

The silver lining is that by shopping at Heavenly Sinful, you are doing something good for the community.  Sandy Gerrettie, the owner of the boutique is also philanthropist of a very special kind who donates all the heavenly proceeds to various local charitable organizations and causes.  Now that is hardly at all sinful wouldn’t you agree?

In the coming months, Heavenly Sinful will be adding reiki, tarot and and other healing seminars to their menu.

“We’re going to be changing the store to more of a healing and wellness center,” Gerrettie said.

Don’t worry though kids, they will be keeping the jewelry and clothing and all the other fun stuff too.

Heavenly Sinful is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. The Web site, heavenlysinfulapparel.com, is currently under construction, so be sure to bookmark it for now and visit them in person for your next great escape.

Editor's Note: The name of the store is Heavenly Sinful. It was misnamed at one point in the story. We regret the error.
