Whiz Kid: Nominate Your Favorite Child

Whiz Kid is going through some transitions. We would love to know about the kids you think are outstanding members of the community.

Channahon-Minooka Patch has been running a Whiz Kid story at least twice a month for more than a year. We know you love the series and we love to highlight the exceptional youth in the community.

We are sad to say thatwill no longer be the author of Whiz Kid stories. Her last Patch story was about our We wish her the best in future endeavors. But, as they say in theater, the show must go on. So, Patch's own is taking over the series and she would like to know which kids in the community you think exemplify passion or skill in academics, extracurriculars or just life in general.

Please send Whiz Kid nominees to Local Editor Dawn Aulet so she can forward them along. Patch will also be on hand in person at the Channahon St. Baldrick's event, starting at 6 p.m., March 31 at Skateland Recreation Center. If you nominate a child for our series or sign up for our newsletter at the event, you will be entered into a drawing for an inspirational, St. Baldrick's-themed necklace. Patch will once again be painting faces or newly-bald heads at the event. Come on over and say hello.
