Eagles Start 2014 On Wrong Foot

There's an old saying "mama said there would be days like this" applied to the Eagles first start in 2014. The Eagles welcomed in Christian Haven from Wheatfield, IN and were looking to avenge a November loss at Christian Haven.

Things started well for the Eagles as both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter. The quarter ended with the Eagles trailing 17-15.

From there, things went down hill for the Eagles. For the next two quarters the Eagles really struggled to find a basket. Even layups became an adventure while Christian Haven continued to hit shots at a rapid rate. The Eagles trailed 34-26 at halftime and really let it get away in the third quarter trailing 55-38 after three.

The Eagles did put up a fight in the fourth quarter, but Christian Haven just didn't let the lead get away and cruised to a 75-59 final.

The Eagles were led by Josiah Blan with 22 points and 11 boards, Cody Blan had 12 with 8 assists, Brandon Cline and Vincent Dorantes tallied 10 each.

The Eagles will compete in the 39th Annual Patriot Winter Classic Friday and Saturday in Highland, IN.
