Is This Your Cat?

A Minooka woman found this cat on Monday night in her subdivision and she is searching for the cat's owner.

On Monday night, Barb Oswald found an orange cat outside her home. The cat has white around her mouth and she believes the cat is a female.

The cat was found in Prairie Ridge subdivision in Minooka.

"The cat was just meowing outside our door," she said. "My son actually heard the cat and he loves cats so he called me and we found it right outside and it just followed us around.

"I walked up and down the main street of our subdivision and the cat just followed us the entire time."

Although there is a missing cat poster in Minooka, hanging on the corner of Mondamin and Wabena avenues, Oswald called that family and this is not their cat.

If you are missing a cat and believe this cat is yours, please contact local editor Dawn Aulet at 815-531-7412 so she can put you in touch with Oswald.

A quick correction, Dawn.... The number that was passed along was taken from a sign posted at the corner of Ridge and Caton Farm Road. Quite a bit north of where the cat was found (but how many lost Orange and white cats do you figure are wandering around Minooka on any given day?) Anyway, if there was a sign posted at Mondamin and Wabena streets, that would be much closer to where the cat was found and may have a different contact number. I cruised the area after work today and could not find the sign at Mondamin/Wabena.

One suggestion if she hasn't done it yet.....take the cat to a local vet and have it scanned for a microchip....it may be registered to a certain owner.
