The Brisban Road Interchange project is the result of an intergovernmental agreement between three entities - , Morris and Grundy County. Eventually the area will be an interchange with traffic signals located along Route 6.
"By the end of the summer, they are hoping to have the ramps done," Channahon Village Manage Joe Pena said.
Currently, traffic patterns along both Interstate 80 and Route 6 include lane shifts.
When completed, the area will be targeted for development by the village of Channahon.
"We're certainly going to be out looking to bring some business there," Pena said.
