Instead, you will be seeing my byline on business stories throughout our area – on Channahon-Minooka Patch, Shorewood Patch and Joliet Patch as well as our neighbors to the west - Yorkville Patch, Oswego Patch and Montgomery Patch. I will also be handling business stories in Plainfield Patch, Romeoville Patch and Bolingbrook Patch.
My new role officially starts today.
I have gotten to know many of you in Channahon, Minooka and Joliet and am honored to call many of you my friends.
In my new role, I will be looking to our readers to let me know where there are new businesses in town and where businesses have closed. Watch for columns on the comings and goings of local businesses.
I also will be writing profiles on businesses that are interesting, on mom and pop shops that have managed to stand the test of time and on what you guys tell me are your favorite places in town.
The week of March 4, I will be posting some information on where to get great fish locally for those who are observing Lent and not eating meat on Fridays or throughout the week. And there will be many more stories as the weeks go on.
I am leaving the day-to-day management of the sites in the capable hands of Karen Sorensen, who shared the reins with me in Joliet since the beginning, and Ron Kremer, who many of you have grown to love as he has covered sports for us, including the MVP feature that runs every week.
I will still be around town all the time and I would be thrilled to come out and help everyone use Patch more effectively. So, if you have a business or group in town, I would be happy conduct a presentation for you. You can reach me at 815-531-7412 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to hearing from you.
