2 People Injured in 1 Car Crash on Interstate 80

Two people were treated on the scene of a one-car crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 80, but neither needed to be transported to the hospital.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but speed and driver inexperience were both factors, Illinois State Police Sgt. Jeff Padilla said.
The accident happened at 3:58 p.m. Friday on Interstate 80 eastbound, at mile marker 116.
The driver hit the median wires and flipped the car.
"The eastbound left lane was shut down for an hour with accident investigation," Padilla said.
The accident was near the rest stop and Minooka Fire Protection District responded to the crash.
The driver was cited for a traffic offense.
