Accident at Arsenal Road Snarls Traffic, Injures 2
Minor injuries reported in three vehicle crash on Arsenal Road Monday.
The area of southbound Interstate 55 at Arsenal Road has been the site of traffic tie ups for a while now while a new interchange is built. But, on Monday afternoon, the left lane of southbound 55 was closed for 45 minutes while Illinois State Police District 5 worked to clear a three-car accident.
Illinois State Police Sgt. Dustin Geier said the accident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. and involved two semis and a passenger truck. Two vehicles were towed from the scene and two people suffered minor injuries.
The left lane opened back up to through traffic at 11:15 a.m.
