Azko Nobel Incident was Minor
Although Fire Departments responded and a building was filled with smoke, there was no fire at the plant Monday morning.
Morris Fire Protection District responded to property on Monday morning for a report of smoke. Minooka Fire Protection District responded as well, but the situation was under control before they even arrived.
"It was real minor, it wasn’t even a fire," Tracey Steffes, Morris Fire Protection District Deputy Chief said. "It was a mechanical problem on backup generator."
That problem did fill the building up with smoke, but no one was injured in the incident.
