Bicycle Safety Rodeo Saturday at Minooka Police Department

Children are invited to participate in a Children's Bicycle Safety Rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the parking lot at the Minooka Police Department.

Are your children ready to ride into the summer months? Or, could they use a refresher on cycling safety?

Well, then this is for you.

The Minooka Fire Protection District, Minooka Police Department, Minooka Citizens Police Academy Alumni and Channahon Fire Protection District are teaming forces to put on a Children's Bicycle Safety Rodeo.

The event is from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday (May 18, 2013) in the Minooka Police Department parking lot, 121 E. McEvilly Road, Minooka. Admission is free and the event is open to children from kindergarten-fifth grade (just bring your parents).

All parents must sign a waiver at the time of registration, according to a news release issued by the Minooka Police Department.

Children are asked to bring their bike, bike helmet and gym shoes (no flip-flops or sandals). All kids will have their bikes inspected, helmets checked for proper fit and they'll receive a goodie bag at the end of the course, according to the police department's news release.
