Minooka Garage Catches Fire

Overnight blaze on San Carlos draws three departments.

No one was injured in a fire overnight Tuesday in an attached garage at 514 San Carlos. The home is within Minooka village limits, but uses Channahon Fire Protection District, Channahon School District 17 and Channahon Park District.

Firefighters from three departments responded to the call, which came at 3:30 a.m. Channahon Fire Protection District, Minooka Fire Protection District and Troy Fire Protection District responded to the blaze, which was out by 4:45 a.m.

Channahon Fire Lt. Brian McMillin said the estimate for fire damage is not known immediately, however, the fire was contained to the garage and did not travel to the house.

There were two cars in the garage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

This is the second fire in a week in the area. On Feb. 10, a home at 112 Heritage St., in Minooka was left unlivable after significant fire damage. The cause of that fire also remains under investigation.
