Channahon Resident Robbed

Police need your help to catch suspects.

Channahon Police need the public's help in finding three Hispanic men wanted for questioning in a burglary/ home repair scam that took place Thursday.

At about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a ruse entry burglary/home repair scam occurred in the the 22000 block of Deal Avenue, Channahon, police said. The home is in a subdivision east of Interstate 55.  A 67-year-old female was taken for more than $7,000 in cash.

The incident began at about 1:15 p.m., when the victim pulled into the driveway and a white, four-door pick-up pulled in behind her. One of the three male Hispanic occupants talked the victim into having her front steps redone with new concrete.

An hour later the job was complete (they put an extremely thin layer of quick set on top of the steps).  One male told the victim the cost was $2,600.  The victim agreed and went into her house to retrieve the cash.  One of the male offenders was standing in close proximity to the victim.  She paid the offender.

A second younger male offender told her they should look at the foundation of the home. While they were looking at the foundation, one of the suspects re-entered the home, taking an additional $4,600, police said.
