Fire Department Holding Live Fire Drill This Friday

Firefighters from Joliet and Aurora will be conducting the training exercises at the building next to the Jewel at Larkin and Theodore.

If you see fire trucks and firefighters descending on a building next to the Jewel at Larkin and Theodore on Friday, just remember this: It's a drill, and only a drill.

The Joliet Fire Department is conducting a live fire drill exercises with the Aurora Fire Department for training purposes. They will begin at 8 a.m. and finish at about 4:30 p.m., according to a release issued by the city of Joliet.

Caution/warnings signs will be posted along Theodore Street alerting motorists to the training, and drivers are urged to use caution when going through the area, the release said.
