Grundy County Felony Dispositions

Grundy County State's Attorney Jason Helland released the following felony dispositions:

HOWARD CLARK, 26, of Chicago, pled guilty to unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a class 1 felony, and was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with an impact incarceration recommendation.  Clark was ordered to pay a mandatory $2,000 drug assessment and court costs.

DEREK CURRY, 35, of Fort Wayne, Ind., pled guilty to unlawful possession of more than 2,000 grams but less than 5,000 grams of cannabis, a class 1 felony, and was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with an impact incarceration recommendation. Curry was ordered to pay a mandatory $2,000 drug assessment and court costs. Curry was given credit for 11 days served in county jail.

DEBORAH KAPINOS, 48, of Diamond, pled guilty to 2 counts of arson, a class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 66 days in jail and placed on 4 years of reporting probation.  In addition, Kapinos was ordered to pay $2,600 in restitution and must register as an arsonist under the Illinois Arsonist Registry Act.

EARNEST PEARSON, 28, of Morris, pled guilty to burglary, a class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail and placed on reporting probation for 4 years.  Pearson was also ordered to pay fines and court costs of $227 and provide a DNA specimen.

MICHAEL SAVOREE, 22, of Seneca, pled guilty to theft of more than $500 but less than $10,000, a class 3 felony, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and placed on 2 years of reporting probation.  Savoree was ordered to surrender his FOID card and firearms, and pay $669 in restitution.
