Grundy County Felony Dispositions

State's Attorney Jason Helland released the following felony dispositions on Friday, June 28, 2013.

In all cases, the official records of the court clerk should be consulted for confirmation.

JOE BUDNICK, 29, of Aurora, pled guilty to possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a class 2 felony, and was ordered to serve 180 days in jail and was placed on 3 years of conditional discharge.

JOHN PATTON, 42, of Angel Fire, New Mexico, pled guilty to unlawful possession of more than 5,000 grams of cannabis, a class 1 felony, and was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  In addition, Patton was ordered to pay a $2,000 drug assessment and a $100 lab fee.

JOHN RODGERS, 39, of Morris, pled guilty to aggravated battery to a police officer, a class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail and placed on 2 years of conditional discharge.  Rodgers was also ordered to surrender his FOID card.

COREY SCHOPP, 24, of Downs, Illinois, pled guilty to bringing contraband into a penal institution, a class 1 felony, and was placed on probation for 3 years and ordered to pay a $100 lab fee and $20 per month probation services fee.

ANDREW VILES, 28, of Morris, pled guilty to burglary, a class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and ordered to pay $761 in restitution.

SHAWN YANCEY, 27, of Chicago, pled guilty to possession of more than 100 grams but less than 400 grams of cocaine, a class 1 felony, and was sentenced to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  In addition, Yancey was ordered to pay a $2,000 drug assessment, a $1,000 fine, and a $100 lab fee.
