Joliet Man's Death an 'Apparent Homicide,' Coroner's Office Says

Few details are available on the murder of Antonio Tyler, who was reportedly shot in the 100 block of North Nicholson Street. Joliet police are investigating.

Joliet police are investigating the death of a 31-year-old Joliet man as an "apparent homicide," according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Antonio P. Tyler was declared dead at 5:45 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Nicholson Street in Joliet, the coroner's office said in a news release.

No cause of death was released. However, the Joliet Herald News reported that Tyler was shot at about 11 a.m. in the back yard of a house.

An autopsy will be conducted Monday.

Joliet Patch will report more details as they become available.
