Men Busted for Choking Their Girlfriends: Cops

The cases are unrelated but in both, the suspects are accused of physically attacking women during fights, Joliet police said.

In two separate cases this weekend, Joliet men were arrested for aggravated domestic battery after choking their girlfriends, Joliet Police Capt. Tab Jensen said.

Robert Bright, 32, was arrested at about 8:50 a.m. Saturday at the 363 N. Broadway home he shares with his girlfriend, whom he's accused of attacking during a fight, Jensen said.

The couple have a child, who was at home during the incident, which also included Bright urinating on the floor, he said.

The victim did not require hospitalization but photos were taken of her injuries.

It was the second time in the last two years that Bright has been arrested for domestic battery, according to records kept by the Will County, where Bright is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond.

In the second case, Adrian D. Laster, 31, of 1116 Ingalls, had a fight with his girlfriend at about 10:40 p.m. Sunday her home in the 1300 block of Center Street that resulted in him punching and choking her, Jensen said. She called police, who arrested Laster at his home.

The woman's injuries did not require hospitalization but police took photos of the bruises and marks she had on her neck and face, he said.

According to records at the jail, where Laster is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond, he has been arrested four previous times since 2008 for domestic battery.
