Little Damage to Home in Minooka Fire

Firefighters were able to rapidly extinguish a fire at a Minooka residence on Wednesday afternoon.

A structure fire on Wednesday afternoon at 904 Rivers Edge Drive, Minooka, was extinguished and damage was limited to the laundry room and contents, Minooka Fire Protection District chief Al Yancey Jr. said in a new release.

Portions of the house are damaged by smoke, Yancey said. An ambulance transported one person from the scene to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Yancey said Minooka Fire District firefighters were assisted at the scene by Channahon and Troy Fire districts and Minooka police.
