Minooka Police Sit on Roof for Money

Like many other departments, representatives from the Minooka Police Department took to the roof of the Dunkin Donuts to raise money for Special Olympics.

Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said the economy does make an impact on how much area police departments can raise in the Cop on the Rooftop fundraiser.

"Last year, we raised a couple thousand dollars and we're hoping to exceed that again this year," he said.

A few years ago, Minooka police were able to raise $4,000 in only a couple hours on top of the at Ridge Road and Wabena.
