Pig's Kneecap Found in State Park

A frenzy of police activity took place Wednesday morning at Canal State Park when a walker found remains in the river.

A little after 8 a.m. Wednesday Channahon Police and Illinois State Police were called out to in .

"We got a call from someone walking the canal," Channahon Police Chief Jeff Wold said. "They said they thought it could possibly be human remains."

But that was not the case. It turns out that the walker had found the knee of a pig.

"It was the knee of a pig," Illinois State Police Sgt. Scott Angus said.

Angus said someone was probably BBQing and threw the remains in the river.
