Sign Up for Reverse 911 for your Landline and Cell Phones

Grundy County recently issued this news release:

The Grundy County Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) has recently deployed an updated “Reverse 911” system that is used for emergency public notification. This notification tool is available to the County as well as Local Municipalities. Certain abnormal situations warrant notification of the public such as missing persons, HAZMAT incidents, and road closures.

Currently, the system includes all landline telephones in Grundy County. However, recent trends have suggested that individuals are relying solely on mobile/cellular phones or VOIP phones. These types of phones will not receive the notification. The vendor, Cassidian, has provided a “Self-Registration Portal” that allows residents to register their phones and email addresses to receive these notifications based on a registered address.
