Updated: 3 Injured in 2-Car Crash on Ridge Road Monday

A two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon shut down Ridge Road between Bell and Route 52.

Kendall County Sheriff's police issued three tickets after a traffic crash injured three men about 1:15 p.m. Monday on Ridge Road, just north of Bell Road.

Joseph J. Kainz, 27, of the 1500 block of S. County Farm Road, Wheaton, was driving south on Ridge Road when he lost control, crossed the center lane and struck a northbound box truck, Kendall County Sheriff's police said in a news release. The accident happened about 0.3 miles north of Bell Road.

took Kainz to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. took the box truck's occupants - a 38-year-old Posen man and a 47-year-old Bolingbrook man - to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, too.

Kainz was charged with improper lane use, driving without insurance and driving with expired registration, according to the news release.
