Cause of the fire that occurred around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning is still under investigation.

No one was injured and two cats were saved from a garage fire that occured at 4:25 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West St. Marys Street, Minooka, according to Lt. Arnold Nolan of the Minooka Fire Protection District.

The fire engulfed a garage unit that had exposure to two seperate housing units, said Nolan. The houses "did suffer damages" from the fire.

The fire was spotted, according to the Northern Illinois Fireground, by Minooka Police officers on patrol. Officers rescued two cats and safely removed a sleeping neighbor from one of the exposure units.
