Who Will Be the Cop-On-Top?

Minooka police officers will be competing amongst themselves for the title of "Cop-on-Top" during a fundraiser Friday for Special Olympics Illinois.

The annual competition is referred to as the “Cop-on-Top” drive.
The winner is Illinois Special Olympics.
The Minooka Police Department will again be taking part in the annual “Cop-on-Top” fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois, according to a news release issued by the department’s Denis Tatgenhorst.
Officers will be stationed at Minooka’s two Dunkin Donut locations—2081 Ridge Road and 104 Ridge Road—from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31. And Tatgenhorst said they’re encouraging everyone to stop by and contribute to a good cause.
He said a donation of $15 or more qualifies an individual to receive a new T-shirt or hat, $10 qualifies for a chance to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle or a traveling mug and $5 qualifies for hat pins.
Tatgenhorst said the Minooka Police Department has set a goal of raising $4,000 at each Dunkin Donut location. And, of course, there is always the question of who will be the “Cop-on-Top” when the day concludes.
