Woman Died Trying to Fix Frozen Water Pipe: Coroner

Kathleen Rae Moon, who was employed at Minooka High School, was pronounced dead Wednesday at her Channahon home, according to the Will County Coroner.

A 52-year-old Channahon woman died during an apparent attempt to fix a frozen water pipe at her home, according to the Will County Coroner.

Kathleen Rae Moon was pronounced dead at a 12:49 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the coroner's office. said. She became trapped in a crawl space outside of her house in the 25300 block of Fryer Street while trying to fix the pipe.

Channahon police are investigating the death, according to the coroner's office.

Moon worked at Minooka Community High School and graduated from St. Francis Academy, according to her obituary.

Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, at Tezak Funeral Home in Joliet. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Tezak Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Joliet.
