Woman Suing Will County Humane Society Says Dog Bite Left Her Sick, Sore & Lame

The woman was bitten by a "vicious" dog at the Shorewood shelter, according to a lawsuit.

A woman claiming she was bitten by a dog at the Will County Humane Society has sued the Shorewood shelter.

Kimberly Perez filed her lawsuit in Will County court.

The lawsuit said Perez was "peacable (sic) conducting herself" at the shelter when a dog named Uno "attacked, bit, and injured her," the lawsuit said.

The attack by Uno left Perez "sick, sore, lame and disordered," the lawsuit said, and she "has lost and will continue to lose great gains she otherwise would have made and acquired."

The humane society was at fault for allowing Perez "to be contained in a confined kennel with said dog when it knew or should have known of the dangerous and vicious propensity of the dog to attack," among other reasons, according to the lawsuit.
