Major Rebuilding of Caton Farm Starts March 25

The reconstruction of Caton Farm Road between Drauden and County Line Road, being overseen by Will County, won't be finished till fall 2014.

The Will County Highway Department will begin work reconstructing Caton Farm Road from Drauden Road to County Line Road on March 25, according to the city of Joliet.

The $7.4 million project, which will be done by P.T. Ferro Construction Co., will create a five-lane cross section -- two lanes in each direction and a center turn lane -- with curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalk on the north side of Caton Farm Road and a multi-use path on the south side of Caton Farm
Road, the city's news release said.

There will also be a permanent traffic signal installed at the intersection with County Line Road.

The work will be completed in stages and, while there will be daily lane closures, there will always be one lane of traffic open in each direction, the release said. Flaggers will direct traffic as necessary, and drivers are urged to use caution and follow traffic zone speed limits, which will be enforced.

Work is to be completed by fall 2014.
