Quit Smoking ... Over the Phone

Will County Health Department offers a hotline to help smokers quit.

Submitted by the Will County Health Department:

Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S., prompting the Will County Health Department to remind area residents that powerful resources are available to help those wishing to kick the habit.

The Illinois Tobacco Quitline is a free, telephone-based cessation counseling service provided to Illinois tobacco users who want to quit smoking for good. Callers to the Quitline (1-866-QUIT-YES) can talk confidentially and free of charge to registered nurses and respiratory therapists, who are certified tobacco treatment counselors. The counselors can provide individualized assistance to callers, and are available to answer all tobacco-related questions to help you quit for good.

As a convenience to callers, Quitline services are available seven days weekly from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. with live translation for more than 200 languages.

For help quitting, contact the Illinois Tobacco Quitline at 1-866-QUIT-YES (1-866-784-8937), or visit www.quityes.org to chat with a counselor.
