Three Rivers Festival Kicks off Tonight

This weekend the presents the Three Rivers Festival at .

The annual celebration is in its 23rd year and includes a host of activities with something for everyone. The annual Little Miss Channahon contest will take place at 7:15 p.m., Thursday. Here are some of the additional highlights:

• Carnival rides are available for a discounted rate on the following days: $1 night Wednesday, $20 unlimited wristband, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday, $20 unlimited 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and $10 unlimited 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday.
• Wine tasting in the beer garden from Beer Garden (Ages 21+) from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Arrowhead Community Center & WineStyles of Shorewood (Sponsored by WineStyles of Shorewood & ‘R’ Place Restaurant).
• Cupcake challenge at 1 p.m. Saturday. Drop off at Family Tent by 12:45 p.m. Presentation at 1:00 p.m. (Sponsored by ExxonMobil)
• Annual 5K run, Firefly 5 K, 7 p.m., Friday

There will be live entertainment each night and this year an Artisan Fair has been added where you can peruse and purchase original works by local artists. Full information on the festival can be found here.

This family-friendly festival begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday and runs through the weekend. 

Someone from Channahon-Minooka Patch will be out at the festival each day. Local Editor Dawn Aulet will be at a table on Friday and will be marching in the parade on Sunday

Admission and parking to the festival are free, but there are charges for certain events within the festival.

All proceeds go toward funding community programs and services in the Channahon area.
