Channahon School Board OKs Budget
Balanced 2011-2012 budget comes in 3.45% lower than last year
The Channahon grade school board got the 2011-2012 year off on the right foot Monday night by passing the district's budget, which came in lower than in previous years.
District business manager Mike Schroeder said a combination of payroll adjustments and "finetuning" saved the district about $123,000. Time was set aside before the meeting for public comment, but no residents spoke.
Overall, Schroeder said, the budget was down 3.45% over last year, partially due to revised estimates for construction work and expenditures coming in lower than expected.
