MCHS Board Members Honored for Service

Nov. 15 was statewide School Board Members Day.

Here's what happened at this week's Minooka High School Board meeting:

  • Culinary Arts students prepared dinner for board members at their Tuesday night meeting to thank them for their service.
  • Nov. 15 was designated School Board Members Day in Illinois by the state school board association. Minooka High School Board members for the 2011-2012 school year are: Chris Kobe, president; James Butterbach, vice president; Debra Warning, secretary; and general members Karen Buchanan, Mark French, Douglas Kaufman and Jeff Wunderlich.
  • The MCHS Future Farmers of America announced their intention to start a Community Garden, where local residents will be able to rent space to grow their own garden.
  • The school district will launch an anonymous, web-based tipline in order to provide students and staff a way to make the school safer.
  • Second-quarter progress reports go out on Friday. There will be no school next Wednesday through Friday for Thanksgiving.
