The young Minooka High School boys' golf team is gaining momentum heading into the second half of the season.
The Indians took third place at the Ottawa Invite Monday in Ottawa.
Streator was first, shooting a 310. The host Pirates were next with a 332 and Minooka was third with the same total. The Indians fell to third based on a tiebreaker.

Sophomore Jason Chobar fired a 76, which was good for fourth place. Dan Zych posted an 81 to place 10th.
In a 156-168 non-Southwest Prairie Conference win over Joliet Central, Chobar and Tom Uraski each shot 1-over-par, 37 at Heritage Bluff Public Golf Club in Channahon.

Girls' Golf
The Indians came away with a 199-219 SPC win over Plainfield Central last week at Wedgewood Golf Course in Joliet.
Krystal Paramo’s 44 was the low score of the match. Rachel Herzberger had a 48, Allie O’Matto posted a 51 and Deaven Hudson came in with a 56.
Girls Tennis
Minooka took third place at No. 3 doubles on its way to a fifth-place finish at the Joliet Township Invite. The Indians scored 21 points.
Minooka fell to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in the Southwest Prairie Conference after a 7-0 setback against Plainfield North.
Winning doubles matches in a 5-2 non-league loss to Yorkville were Tori Anians and Claire Wojnarowski at No. 1 and the No. 3 team of Danielle Musgrave and Alyssa Aspan.
Girls Volleyball
Minooka picked up where it left off a year ago, going 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the Southwest Prairie Conference after its first 10 games.
Tuesday evening, the Indians play host to Oswego East, which was the only team to beat the reigning league champions last year. And, it was in Minooka. The game began at 6 p.m.
