Annual Fashion Show to Support Joliet Area Community Hospice

Hansen's Villa to return with the latest fashions and accessories.

Fashion Week in New York just ended and the latest in fashions are on their way to stores. One such store in the area, is Hansen’s Villa and they are ready to bring these designs to the runway in Joliet.

The Joliet Area Hospice Guild will present their annual “Puttin’ On The Glitz” fashion show on November 6, at the Renaissance Center in Joliet.

“We are excited to present another fashion show, knowing the community looks forward to it each year,” said founding member Jeanette D’Arcy. “We feel blessed to be able to make an impact, and what better way than an elegant fashion show.”

The Hospice Guild is a fundraising and awareness arm of the Joliet Area Community Hospice (JACH) that presents the fashion show annually. The Guild started with just a handful of member 26 years ago, when they recognized the need for a support group. The membership has since grown to seventy active women.

Rick Kasper, JACH CEO said he is honored to have the Guild champion Hospice and thanks them for their dedication, time, talents and sharing their treasurers to help make the Joliet Area Community Hospice organization a success.

“Without the community's support, JACH would not be able serve so many families during their time of crisis,” he said “JACH serves, on an average day, about 165 patients and over 1,200 families use the bereavement services. JACH continues to grow with over 150 staff members and 250 active volunteers.”

“We, at Hansen’s Villa, feel humbled in being able to partner with the Guild to assist Hospice in helping the community,” said Betty Hansen. “JACH is an amazing organization and this is just our small way we can contribute to the community effort.”

Styles highlighted will include several haute couture styles while also brining in upcoming designers.

“Each year we look forward to presenting unique ensembles that are fresh and original,” said Betty Hansen. “This fall it is all about the ‘finishing touch.’ From the perfect clutch, the scarf, a hat or the stole that puts the full stop to the ensemble.”

She said there is nothing basic about the outfits at the show. Each will make a statement, of a confident, fashion conscious woman.

“Puttin’ on the Ritz” is on Sunday, November 6, at the Renaissance Center and begins at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon followed by the fashion show. Space is limited to 360 guests. Tickets may be reserved by calling 815-460-3252.
